HOT HONEY BBQ MEATLOAF

Hot Honey BBQ Meatloaf

Ingredients:

For the Meatloaf:
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend for best results)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup Heatwave Hot Honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
For the Hot Honey BBQ Glaze:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.

  2. Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:

    • In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let it sit for a few minutes until the breadcrumbs absorb the milk.
    • Add the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Heatwave Hot Honey, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika to the breadcrumb mixture.
    • Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the meatloaf tough.

  3. Shape the Meatloaf:

    • Transfer the meatloaf mixture to the prepared baking sheet or loaf pan. Shape it into a loaf.

  4. Prepare the Glaze:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the Heatwave Hot Honey, BBQ sauce, and apple cider vinegar.

  5. Glaze the Meatloaf:

    • Brush half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.

  6. Bake the Meatloaf:

    • Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
    • After 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and brush the remaining glaze over the top.
    • Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  7. Rest and Serve:

    • Once done, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
    • Serve with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
