Ingredients:
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- Hot honey (HEATWAVE)
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or a cast-iron skillet.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and eggs until well combined.
Step 4: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish or skillet, spreading it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 6: Remove the cornbread from the oven and let it cool slightly in the baking dish or skillet.
Step 7: Drizzle Heatwave Hot Honey generously over the warm cornbread.
Slice and serve the Hot Honey Cornbread as a side dish or enjoy it on its own.
