SMOKED HOT HONEY BBQ RIBS

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of baby back ribs
  • 3 tablespoons Heatwave Hot Honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)
  • Wood chips for smoking (hickory or applewood recommended)

Instructions:

  1. Season Ribs:

    • Mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
    • Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.
  2. Prepare Smoker:

    • Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
    • Add wood chips according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Smoke Ribs:

    • Place the ribs in the smoker, bone side down. Smoke for 3 hours.
  4. Wrap Ribs:

    • Remove ribs from the smoker.
    • Place each rack on a large piece of aluminum foil.
    • Brush Heatwave Hot Honey over the ribs.
    • Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the ribs.
    • Wrap the ribs tightly in the foil and return to the smoker for another 2 hours.
  5. Finish Ribs:

    • Unwrap the ribs and discard the foil.
    • Brush ribs with barbecue sauce.
    • Return ribs to the smoker, unwrapped, for 1 hour to set the sauce.
  6. Serve:

    • Remove ribs from the smoker and let them rest for 10 minutes.
    • Slice and serve with extra Heatwave Hot Honey.
