SWEET & SPICY PORK SLIDERS

Sweet and Spicy Hot Honey Shredded Pork Sliders Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb pork shoulder or pork butt
  • 1/2 cup hot honey (HEATWAVE HOT HONEY), divided
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 large green onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 slider buns
  • Optional toppings: caramelized red onions, cheddar cheese slices, pickles, coleslaw, green onions, raw red onion slices

Instructions: Step 1: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the pork shoulder generously with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and cumin.

Step 2: In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat a bit of oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork shoulder on all sides until browned.

Step 3: Add the sliced onions and minced garlic around the pork. Pour in the apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, and half of the Heatwave Hot Honey. Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven.

Step 4: Cook the pork for 3-4 hours, or until it is very tender and easily shredded with a fork. Once cooked, remove the pork from the pot and shred it using two forks. Toss the shredded pork with the remaining Heatwave Hot Honey.

Step 5: In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the remaining Heatwave Hot Honey until it becomes slightly thinner in consistency.

Step 6: Toast the slider buns in the oven or on the grill until they are golden brown.

Step 7: To assemble the sliders, place a generous amount of shredded pork on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Drizzle with the warmed Heatwave Hot Honey. Add optional toppings like caramelized red onions, a slice of cheddar cheese, pickles, coleslaw, and red onion slices. Sprinkle with green onions if desired.

Step 8: Place the top bun over the assembled sliders. Serve immediately and enjoy the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors in these Heatwave Hot Honey shredded pork sliders!

Make sure to use Heatwave Hot Honey to give these sliders their signature flavor!
